IDOE’s Office of Special Education (OSE), is announcing the Year 1 Cohort of local education agencies (LEAs) that have been selected to participate in special education monitoring during the 2025 school year. Selection is based on the annual statewide risk assessment process, which considers compliance and results-driven indicators to ensure IDEA and Article 7 requirements are being met. These LEAs will undergo either desktop or onsite monitoring to support continuous improvement, ensure student needs are met, and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
